Well my FedEx location is 50 miles away. It would be easier if the driver would ring the bell and not just knock, if we are in the back of the house we won't hear him knock, this is an on going problem with FedEx at our place, or if I am in my shop. I will have to sign up an sit on the porch and wait for him I guess.claimdude wrote:If you sign up at FexEx.com for an online account (free) you have them hold the shipment at the FedEx location. You can also sign the door tag they leave and they will redeliver the package without a signature (they use the signed tag as proof of receipt).

You could get one of these, mount the motion sensor at your front door, and keep the receiver near you.jjbuzard wrote:Well my FedEx location is 50 miles away. As long as Amazon doesn't ship it via FedEx, that is.

Or the FedEx guy could learn to ring the bell, I have several wireless doorbells throughout my house that ring IF the bell is rung, I have caught him and told him to ring the bell but he continues to knock and leave a note and run away like some little kid on Halloween. He CLAIMS it is their policy NOT to ring the bell because some people sleep during the day, STUPID LOGIC!

Re: Power Pro Delay in Shipping!
Well let's see. He does not bring the 'object' with him. He only brings the 'notice'. He knocks only. He runs to the truck.
Notice anything?
He has no intention of taking that object out of the truck. He is not attempting to deliver it. He only wants to carry that piece of paper and get the H out.
Sad part is, it is likely company policy.
After all taking the object out of the truck, carrying it to the door takes time(and effort). By 'posting', knocking, and running the driver can drop off more pieces of paper on a given scheduled run.
Oh the bean counters are elated that so many pieces of paper are delivered 'on time'.
Unfortunately the bean counters do not understand that is not the prime directive. Delivering objects is.*
* At least from our perspective!

I remember back a few years when they were on strike and we couldn't get the primary carriers to deliver things.
There was even talks of mergers. I think they realized that FedUp was not a viable business model.
Did you report the driver I hope?

I don't know if he brings the package with him to the door, mainly because he doesn't ring the bell, so I don't know when he is there until I accidentally find the note. When I call the terminal 50 miles away, they tell me I can come get it or they will attempt to leave it again on the next business day, which in one case was 3 days away due to a long weekend holiday. So I guess I need to recheck my settings on my established account, because I never get notices from them. UPS, YES, and UPS confirms not only that they are going to deliver, but when it is delivered, Nice, FedEx could learn from them, once upon a time FedEx was listed as an "In Search Of Excellence company, not sure if they are now.

Awesome! The wood gods have heard my plea, and the headstock is "Being Shipped!"

I called today to check, when I ordered it the CS Person said probably less than 4 weeks, today I checked and they said who told you 4 weeks, it will be 6 to 8 weeks, at least 6 weeks.LvAllen wrote:Awesome! The wood gods have heard my plea, and the headstock is "Being Shipped!"
Re: Power Pro Delay in Shipping!
I already have a FedEx online account so I signed up for their FedEx Delivery Manager, where they notify you in advance as to when your package will arrive, So I received this notice....claimdude wrote:If you sign up at FexEx.com for an online account (free) you have them hold the shipment at the FedEx location. So we planned our day around this notice and waited, finally at 5:00 I called the FedEX # and of course no human is available, so I put in the Tracking number and the system said my package would be delivered on Tuesday April 5th between 1:00 and 5:20.
So much for their notification system. FedEX WORTHLESS!
