Iowa eagle nest

Post by swampgator »

I thought a few of you may like to watch this. It gets boring just to sit and watch, but looking in as if through a window is fun. Gather the children and grandchildren around. Neat view.

As a child 60 years ago in school learning about the national bird, I really wanted to see one up close. This is better than being there. I will not post here again. I am going to watch this whole evolution and I hope you have enjoyed it, too. Thanks for all the participation and for the link to Michigan. Now, I have work to do and I hope all have a wonderful summer.

When I worked on the phones and people asked where we were located, and I would tell them Iowa, a few of people's exposure to Iowa was limited to the Decorah eagles nest. We are seeing a lot more eagles in this state, though, due to some good conservation efforts. There is a neat raptor rehab facility down near Iowa City, too.

About time for action

Post by swampgator »

The one in Washington, D.C. had a hatchling today. So, it is about time for some to pop up on this site. I hope someone sees the first one pop out.

BTW if you are using firefox they have turned off flash video so you will not be seeing this. I've loaded chrome and they have a local version that they use and you will see the action. Not that anything is happening right now but

So many places I see links to still have the flash video and not the HTML5 that "everyone" is going to.

Looks like a light breeze so a few feathers moving and that is about it.

BTW it is possible you have a really old copy of firefox that might still have the plugin working. When you update it will go away. I'm currently on 46.0b5. I haven't checked of late but I believe it has been off for 7 or 8 months now so this is not new.

Well that explains why some things no longer 'play'.

I am using Windows Internet Explorer. Sometimes, when I click on the site, I get a "need to update Flash". Well, I haven't and don't plan to. When I get that message, I simply "Refresh" the link until I get the video and sound. When this Windows 8 systems dies, will go to a tablet and drop computers altogether. Getting too tired to deal with all this anymore. LOL

As of this post, the site state that 7300 viewers are watching.

Oh yeah! We need more non backward compatible 'upgrades' for sure.

Improvements? Maybe. :(

There was a time when system operating system upgrades(new versions) were backward compatible(all the older stuff still worked as it initially did).

Most new versions were to support new stuff(hardware).

Thanks to Bill Gates that 'concept' is totally foreign today.
