I think you should build one, bees are important and having habit for them is a good thing. As was mentioned you can decide how many holes you want in yours, the plans here are just a guideline as to what I did.

Speaking of Mason Bees I have not seen any yet this year. Our early spring flowers are up and starting to die back already so the bees are missing out on that. Don't know if it just to early for them or if the flowers are just up too early.

These were the early ones that are past there prime and soon to be gone until next spring.

The colour is "miss tint" ;) $3.00 for a pint can at the local ReStore. :D
In person it is grey, not as blue as it looks in the photo.

I guess I can see that as gray, but with a hint of blue due to the lighting. Anyway I like it.

Have not seen any bee's here yet. The early spring plants we have are all done out and the second stringers are starting. Cherry blossoms are working on opening but have a ways to go. If the bee's are not out by them there will be no cherries but I have faith that they will return.

Starting to see wild flowers while on my walks:

Still not a bee to be seen. It is 71 degrees this afternoon or at least it was a short while ago when I looked.

The cherries are pretty much in full bloom. It has been very windy so I guess we will see how pollination by wind does this year.

I guess if I had nothing better to do I could go get a small paint brush and make like a bee.
