it has come to my attension

Post by ERLover »

Over the last few weeks with Threads/Post here that have been pulled/closed in Community the MS seems IMHO to be on the Left side, just my observation.
Has anyone noticed it also??

Not unless you can show examples of what you view as left-leaning threads that have been allowed by admin. I think admin is just trying to keep politics and other potentially divisive stuff off the board.

Honestly, I haven't seen anything which would look that way. I think they're just trying to keep everything as clean as possible.

All the best,

Think of admin as a filter for those who dont have one. :) Not pointing any fingers, but some of the posts the other day made me say out loud, "Really???" We are adults here, and we should act like it. There, enough spanking.

I must be confused. What does it mean to be left leaning or right leaning when discussing "wood working".

No you are not confused, Dusty. Political affiliation has nothing to do with woodworking or Shopsmiths. But, the community forum isn't necessarily for woodworking talk or talk about Shopsmiths.

At the same time, none of the forums, including the community forum, should be a place for rude or boorish talk and almost every political post ever either starts or ends up in the rude/boorish category. I could not be any less interested in the political views of the forum members. I have my own political views, of course, but don't flatter myself into thinking that anyone else on the internet is particularly interested in reading about them. :D

Amen to that. I do enjoy a good story or joke, and the community section is great for that, but we have to keep things appropriate, and yes sometimes it just slips out and the storm hits.... We can forgive

It is my opinion, though very few seem to be interested in my opinion, that the purpose of the Community forum is being stretched. Furthermore, I believe, it is being stretched not by just one or two members but rather by several who seem to pile-on.

If I had anything to do with it, there would be far more threads/posts deleted or locked than there are AND several members of the forum would be on notice. The forum is going down hill fast.

I quite agree with everything I put in bold, Dusty.
