Need a bigger stable!!

Post by ERLover »

Might need to add a stall or 2.
Picking up this Filly tomorrow, and yes Dusty, I will post picks when in the stable. Just dont know if I shoud ask him if he will take $180. I mean I fell a bit guilty at 200$ :)

Greenie, Grayling, SS stand alone BS and BS SPT, jointer and belt sander, 3 Ers with Speed Changers. I think those 3 cover my ER needs, and space for them. :)

Good price! Even though we all want a really good deal,It's already a good deal. JMO, I wouldn't try $180.00. If the band saw is in good condition, It's worth more than the asking price for the entire machine!!!!!!!!

Congrats on a nice find.....

Oh Mike, I know!! Ebay and the very few I seen being sold separately and not a free standing BS are 175-225, funny I bought a free standing for the 100 they were asking only because I was out of town and they held it for me on a gentleman's agreement that I would be there, it was on CL, saw one a few weeks ago also a free standing BS I think for 125.
And who knows he said he had more stuff not listed, but I bet not anymore SPTs

Well I got it, not any extras other then the BS, but super clean, so since he held it for me as the first caller, not the first one that showed up with money in hand, and knowing the deal it was, just paid the 200$.
BS has the cast iron table, just a sanding disc, so now 5 of them, nephew will get that. Just looked at the tires, dirty, but just need a brushing, but the blade has tension on it, for a number of years, a no no!!
So at moms, I have an extra SS jointer at home, and going to get a Delta TS with a Besmeyre fence for 185$ on Saturday, the fence new is about 300$, the saw is an upgrade of mine at home that I wanted to upgrade the fence on but have seen used ones on CL with a besmeyer or Vega with a saw for less then a new fence alone. So patients paid off!!
So now that it is spring, at moms will have all those, Will work on the router table/cabinet.

BD, I bought 10 hours of shop time there, going to finish cut the 4x8 sheet goods and dado them there for the router cabinet. I have not proceeded to HD to get it yet, maybe this weekend. At basically 20$ an hour and no return on investment, would rather have bought this stuff with a return on investment. I will still use the 10 hours I bought, but to continue that too rich for my blood. When on CL here in WI there are so many deals on wood working machinery.
Besides, the get organized, pack up each time, is not my cup of tea. Plus my best free time from mom is in the afternoons 12-5 ish and they are not open then except on Friday, Sat and Sun. Too set in MY ways, and too anal retentive to want to not have it my way as far as being in your own shop.
Sorry for the last few days post/threads, venting. Thanks for your understanding. :o
Thanks for asking and remembering, all here are like family, and I act like the Prodigal son/child :o
Hows thing going with you and mother in law moving in? No thats Chris Nelan. Sorry. :)

Yea, I like having my own shop too.

Venting aside, I certainly do admire how you are caring for your mother. It is someone else here who has a mother-in-law moving in. My wife & I had our children relatively late in life. We lost all of our parents, doing what we could to care for them, while still raising three small children. An extreme "sandwich generation" experience, that was.

I think it is Chris Nielen, but BD I am old school, your children learn so much from there grand parents, and the atmosphere of loving and caring that they will carry on into there lives. I know it may have been a strain at times, BUT if life was good all the time, then when it isnt, they/we cant deal with it. They are better for it. I had a great father in law, and when I was younger and more idealistic, we had a discussion on something, I still remember this, he said "Fair? you think life is fair? Tell me what rule book that you read that said life is fair" he was not a bitter man, to the opposite, very compassionate/loving and wise man.

Well I promised Dusty pics, well setting up a shop at moms, and I yet not used my membership at the the pay to use shop. It might just go to waste.
So I picked up this TS, grayling with BS, and router table with a router for a total of $545, and after words I can sell it off and at least get half. I have an extra greenie jointer at home, to bring down here next week and put on the grayling. I hate bi colored era SS. :D
So Dusty here are your pics.
