The Doolittle raiders of WWII are down to two. God bless them.

These were courageous men who did a very daring mission. I hope that we have those kind of people in the ranks today. Who knows when we might need this again and many other things learned in WWII?

The news reported yesterday that the Pentagon wants to downsize by 20 percent again. The big BRAC of 1985 still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. That BRAC was 10 years with 5 rounds that lasted to 1995. Many men and women in uniform were simply dismissed along with many federal civil service. It cost us more money now than it did then. I did contracting for 6 years and it is not ethical. Well, that's my pennies worth.

Well, who ya gonna vote for? Hillarious or Trump/Other? Seems our elected officials would prefer Hillarious as opposed to the others because some have stated that will protect their ASSets to do that.

The photo of Dave and his wife sent my mind back to the old days. We had the privilege of socializing with the Thackers back in the late 1070's. We took square dance lessons with them in Missoula, MT along with 5 squares of others. Square dancing was one of the "things" that was popular then.

The Thackers were very quiet and nice folks. David never said much, but was always considerate and kind. One of those guys you always remember. It is nice to see him getting whatever notice we will give him and all of the others who participated in that historical effort.

David is looking good! He has to be in his 90s
