About what speed should I run the Safety Planer for very light cuts in white oak?

Stewmac.com instructions say 2500-3000 rpm.
PowerPro Mark 7, 11" Bandsaw, 4" Jointer, 12" Professional Planer, DC3300 Dust Collector, DW745, DW718 w/ DW723 and a DW788 w/ DW7880.

My preferred speed for these things is zero RPM,Tried one in a DeWalt RAS many years and swore I would never use one again. Finally through it in the trash. That was pre E-Bay
