KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE EQUALS WISDOM. Albert Einstein
The Greatness officially starts :D :D :D :D :D :D
Greenie, Grayling, SS stand alone BS and BS SPT, jointer and belt sander, 3 Ers with Speed Changers. I think those 3 cover my ER needs, and space for them. :)

Just got a bill from Frontier Communication. Found out Verizon sold to Frontier their service in Ca. Tx. and one more state - can't remember.

Here in Connecticut ATT sold to Frontier a couple of years ago. At first all was well, then down the tubes went service. Not customer service, actual service. Their tv and internet was horible. I left and went with Atlantic Broadband for phone, internet and tv.

Well, in keeping with the listed topic (but not about the phones, sorry!), I indeed have an issue.

After the delay in shipping my PowerPro, SS sent me a $30.00 gift card, and a nice letter from Mr. Folkerth explaining the situation. Awesome, right?! Well, since I've been wanting to give it a try, and I didn't have the tools, I decided to put that gift card toward the purchase of 5-piece lathe chisel kit. This was on 4/12.

I've been following the status of the order nearly everyday, and until today everything but the parting tool was listed as out of stock. "Ah!" you might think, "A change in out of stock status must be good news!" Unfortunately, no. The change that I encountered today was for the 1" gouge, which now reads, "Currently Out of Stock, Expected on 08-01-2016" The rest still just say "Currently Out of Stock".

8/1? For a 1" parting gouge? I'm really confused about this.

There is really nothing confusing about it - except that Shopsmith does this sort of thing regularly. They put items on the email specials that they do not have in stock. When someone orders that items, it goes on back order. I don't know if they (Shopsmith) does this knowingly or if they just pick items at random to put on special. Either way, I think it is a bad business practice.

I waited 3 months for my last powerpro and did not get a $30 card so how long did you wait to get yours? Or are they selective in handing those out to certain people?

I waited a whole YEAR for the bandsaw table insert and no gift card. Perhaps I'm too loyal?

We have discussed this conjecture before. Stock gets low on a certain item. They need a minimum order quantity. So they run a special to up the demand to justify ordering(spending $) the minimum quantity.

Good idea if short on $.

Bad idea re customer satisfaction.

I dare say it is what it is. We just do not know nor can have much effect upon it.

The joys of 'lean' manufacturing!

Ed,

I don't know how/why I was chosen to get the card, but my wait was about the same as yours.
