Thanks alot for the pictures and your use of the fence. I wonder if anyone out there has used the other fence that Shopsmith sells, #555429 ?

I have the 556005 20" Aluminum Miter Gauge Extension with Flip Stop. That is the same fence extrusion that comes with the Kreg band saw fence I believe. It does have a strip of some kind of plastic on the bottom. That strip is not as wide as the aluminum extrusion but it is only 3/64" thick. So unless you are cutting something thinner than that there should be no problem.

You can also use the T track on the face and the SS T nuts and add an auxiliary fence as long and as high as you want. I make my fences out of 3/4" hard maple. You can also add the SS Flip-Up Rip Fence Stop 555807/8. That gives you about 10" more of stop length with the SS miter gauge extension.

Thanks for the pix and ideas John. In the bottom picture there is a grey metal stand under the table. It looks like it is adjustable in height and could be used as an outfeed stand...looks pretty stable too. Am I close on what it is and does? Where'd you get it?

Yes that is what it is. I have had it for about 10 years and I think I got it from Lee Valley but it is not there now. It is really very nice. It has coarse height adjustment via the center post. The nob on the right is fine height adjustment and the knob on the left is tilt. The silver metal behind the rollers is a ramp you can raise to support narrow pieces that would otherwise fall between the rollers. Also one of the feet has a screw pad in it for uneven floors.
