Yes Hitler targeted Jews. The radical Muslims target everyone that are not Muslim. Europe has the biggest problem but they don't contribute in any significant way in to the problem the middle east. I actually long for the days of the cold war. Remember when we had drills at school to duck under desk in case of an attack. Things were stable then and we didn't have idiots running around willing to blow themselves up. It was a Chess game back then and nobody was going to anything stupid.

The entire free world needs to step up. Our current Commander in Chief (I only capatalise it in respect for the position) should be the leader in this. He is not and God help us if Hilary or Donald get in. We need another Ronald Reagan.

I'm not sure that times were stable during the cold war but I can understand why you would like to see that era return. We certainly do not need all of the chaos that is happening on our streets today. If bringing back the cold war would cause that to stop we would be better off.

However, I do not believe this is primarily a political issue. What I believe is needed is for our youth to be brought up with the same discipline that I encountered. Where is the Church in this discussion. I have six grand kids being raised in this environment and I worry about them and their futures. The age of entitlements needs to end.

But let us not forget the Hippy Era (the 60s) and what that brought to us and I am not talking about the Volkswagen Bus. Some of that mentality is still with us today.

Enough of that!! I am one who complains about this forum departing from "wood working".

I've changed the quote to add come comments. I think my changes are in BOLD so you know that. If you have studied ancient, world, religious or even recent history you would never know that ISIL has always been in existence in thought and plan. Not my opinion. Do some research. I learned this as an undergraduate and ignored it. History? Who cares? Well, now I do and I also know where it is going. I didn't pay attention then but I do now.

I have been watching "The Road to Pearl Harbor" a history lesson of sorts that covers the time frame of 1919 through 1941.

It is on Amazon Prime for "free". I never knew I knew so little about that period of our history. I've watched 14 of the 16 shows.

I was telling the wife about it and she has joined me watching and together we are learning a lot. I may start over once I've watch the whole series so I can learn some more and clear up a few questions that have come to mind, things I think were covered but I'd like to hear them again.

The problem is the politicians have stopped doing what is best for this country and focus almost exclusively in doing what is best for them and will help keep them in office.
