Today at the ReStore Stanley 04-313

You just never know what you might find at the ReStore.

Today it was a Stanley 04-413. I don't know the proper name for it but it is a drill guide and from what I can see it doesn't look like it got used much.

It has a bit storage area in the handle but no bits.

Now the reason it might not have gotten much use could be that it doesn't work well? No idea yet on that front.

I don't recall ever seeing one in the store but maybe I missed it. Or maybe it didn't last long.

The turret has 13 holes so I'm guessing at 1/16"-3/16 by 64ths??? I check that out later.

I hadn't had time to try and look it up yet, saves me the effort. It was pretty cheap at the time, anyway the buck I paid seems reasonable.

The bits that fit are 1/4, 15/64, 7/32, 13/64, 3/16, 11/64, 5/32, 9/64, 1/8, 7/64, 3/32, 5/64, and 1/16. All but the 1/8" hole felt good. It must have been used a lot with the 1/8" bit and it is slightly oversized now, enough that I wouldn't trust it to be vertical on its own. The next size larger bit will not fit so it is not 1/64" larger but still.

I know I had this issue because the Handy Fold-up Tool Toter on page 116 was one of my projects!!!! I had forgotten all about it until I saw it again. I had that for quite a few years, I used it when I built my Heathkit TV back in 1973 and 74. I don't recall what even happened to it but I don't think I have it any more.

On page 190 is the course I took, you built the TVOM, scope and used that circuit board to put circuits together as part of the course. Ah the energy I use to have.

I took the same course in the same years. I still have the VOM and I think the scope is here somewhere also. The Air Force paid for the course.

I still have both of them, however the last time I used the scope the sine wave had an odd bump in it, something has gone south..... but it never was much of a scope with out a built in time base. Wave forms yes but that was about it.
