Amazing stuff

Post by benush26 »

I was in a friend's shop today for the first time in a couple years. When I had last talked to her she said I could bring in my stuff to display and sell if I wanted. I never did take her up on her offer. Which is a GOOD thing!

Today while waiting to talk to her I browsed her shop and found these

This last one was sold while I was in the shop. It will be a fiftieth anniversary present! :p

After looking at his stuff, I realize even with ALOT of work, my stuff is second rate fireplace kindling!!

I so admire the things people create. Just so you know, the second piece has the design of each panel through the bowl. :)

Be well,
Ben

Wow, those are amazing! And from the price tags, not inexpensive. Still, if I tried to make segmented turnings that complex, I'd be lucky to make $0.50/hr. at those prices. Perhaps the maker prepares several identical bowls at a time to save on setup time - I sure would.

Expensive? Yep! Underpriced? You betcha!

Problem is if you ain't tried to make stuff like that you ain't gotta clue as to the skill/time/imagination/$ required to do so.

Regardless they are gorgeous(I word I do not use often).
