Goldie hammered colors
I can't find what has been suggested on what hammered paints to use for the goldie/brownie machines. I have bought another 10ER (for the speed changer) and I want to restore it as soon as "Texas Booty" gets finished which will be very soon.
What, if any, hammered Krylon or Rust-oleum, paints has been determined to match the best in the hammered colors.
Thanks in advance!

You can choose a spot protected from the sun, inside, wher a cover laps over, etc and pick a Rustoleum Hammered color that is close and start adding the missing color in the form of another Rustoleum Hammered color, Rustoieum says any of their Hammered colors can be mixed together, pretty easy to get VERY close to the original color, be sure to thin for spraying with Xylol ONLY, NEVER use Mineral Spirits with Rustoleum paints.

Re: Goldie hammered colors
I really don't want to have to mix paints. I have done a lot of that in years past, but these machines, to me, just don't require that. I love how your machine came out, but what out of the can aerosols were the closest to the "original" goldie colors... if any ?jjbuzard wrote:You can choose a spot protected from the sun, inside, wher a cover laps over, etc and pick a Rustoleum Hammered color that is close and start adding the missing color in the form of another Rustoleum Hammered color, Rustoieum says any of their Hammered colors can be mixed together, pretty easy to get VERY close to the original color, be sure to thin for spraying with Xylol ONLY, NEVER use Mineral Spirits with Rustoleum paints.
Remember, this is a 10ER and never had this color scheme anyway, so anything goes .... My wife just wants this one to be a "goldie" ....

An ER painted to a goldie?? Is that like a proto type?? Cant wait to see it, it will be spectacular I am sure!rjent wrote:I really don't want to have to mix paints. Greenie, Grayling, SS stand alone BS and BS SPT, jointer and belt sander, 3 Ers with Speed Changers. I think those 3 cover my ER needs, and space for them.

Re: Goldie hammered colors
Unfortunately my recent experience with the mother ship paint was less than satisfactory , after 2 weeks drying, it chips and scratches down to the primer very easily. Wish I had used Rustoleum , much more durable. I hope my opinion doesn't get me kicked off of here.rjent wrote:

I think the MS looks at opinions like yours as feedback to improve their product. Besides, it is informative to the rest of us!jjbuzard wrote:Unfortunately my recent experience with the mother ship paint was less than satisfactory , after 2 weeks drying, it chips and scratches down to the primer very easily. Re: Goldie hammered colors
Just a thought, maybe a primer and paint that was not compatible with each other?

I think it will look good on a 10ER ....
Is that Rust-oleum or Krylon?
