Thanks everyone for your help, especially you Tom for taking the time and effort to scan and post the manual.
I find myself checking this forum constantly since I joined. I never could understand why others didn't share my enthusiasm for the Shopsmith, but I think I have found the rest of the cult.
I look forward to sharing some of my experiences with my shopsmith over the years.

Shopsmith Air Compressor Manual

Did you use the advance reply? Is the file size within limits? 4.77mb for a .DOC and 5.72mb for a .PDF.
SS 500(09/1980), DC3300, jointer, bandsaw, belt sander, Strip Sander, drum sanders,molder, dado, biscuit joiner, universal lathe tool rest, Oneway talon chuck, router bits & chucks and a De Walt 735 planer,a #5,#6, block planes. ALL in a 100 square foot shop.

Shopsmith Air Compressor Performance
How does the Air System work? Does it work effectively with a nail gun? Is it really loud (i.e. my Porter Cable pancake compressor was outrageously loud).
Is there an inexpensive way to use the nailer such as buy a cheap air tank? That would be a much quieter process I would think.

ShopSmith no longer offers the air compressor, but you may find a used one. Part of the noise that your Porter-Cable compressor generates, is due to the motor that ran the compressor.
