I have many hobbies, however due to health problems I do not do a lot of them any more.
past.
hunting, with gun or bow.
scuba diving
motorcycles riding and repairing
gold panning/ prospecting
metal detecting
veggie gardening
raising pigs.

present
target shooting
reloading my own ammo/ learning to cast bullets
fishing
making fishing lures
camping
building a mini lathe
photography
learning leather crafts
The most important one is spending time with my wife and our kids, and our church family

Are the things I do a hobby or is the hobby learning to do the things?

Activities I do often or because I need to:
woodworking
maintaining a garden & fruit orchard
reading
motorcyling

Things I learned to do to take up time and keep my hands busy but do not do often:
cross stitch
tatting
bobbin lace
engine repair

Perryobear, that is a great looking setup. I envy you. I'd love to have room for such a RR. Great job.

Howdy folks,

In addition to woodworking, I love model trains and my MGB.

Have fun,

Hi Mike,

Woodworking, trains, and British roadsters.
A combination approaching perfection in my mind.
Alas, I am down to just the first two, but fondly remember my TR4A, TR6, and a couple of "B"s from days past. Enjoy them all!

I have a few hobbies as so many of us have, and one of mine is writing Christian poetry. I've done it though the years and I find it helps me to put down on paper in prose some of the things we sometimes find it hard to talk about with folks face to face.

Some years ago I was visiting with a young person who was challenged by some things he was studying in school that he couldn't put down in words himself regarding how he felt about the subject.

I shared my thoughts with him and told him to keep reading other material that discussed it from a variety of perspectives and see what really resonated with him. He made a comment that he would like to find something as simple to understand as a nursery rhyme, yet profoundly deep in the subject.

Later in the quiet of that evening, the attached poem was penned.

I am including this poem as an illustration of my hobby, not to get into the subject matter per se in these forums. There are other forums for that.

To illustrate my hobby and from the perspective of that discussion with the young man I wrote...
