The old yard-rake started flopping around Saturday. I'd had enough of the hollow-tube original red handle, so I retrofitted another wood handle to it. Of course I put the Mk5 Drill Press to work, and tilted the table+fence 45 degrees, so as to drill through the utmost center of the new pole.
Then I used some of the same hardware I'd used per recommendation of Bill Mayo (long socket-head cap screw and locking nut) on Mk5-porkchop/speedchanger refurbs. It all came out great!

Another repair job....
A stout old Japanese kanna plane which had a split. The bolt and nut (Frankenstein's Neck repair!?) have put this effective plane back in business!

You could have made a wood plug or dowel to fit in the old red handle and drilled a new hole.
