DC3300 slight modifacation.
I finally changed by 2/3's full bag the other day. But before I could take it upstairs, I HAD to tape up some holes in it. The cause was the bolts around the bag area. So I covered the nuts with 1/2 inch furniture leg tips. I'm hoping that keeps the bag hole free.
SS 500(09/1980), DC3300, jointer, bandsaw, belt sander, Strip Sander, drum sanders, molder, dado, biscuit joiner, universal lathe tool rest, Oneway talon chuck, router bits & chucks and a De Walt 735 planer,a #5,#6, block planes. ALL in a 100 square foot shop.

Hi beeg,
A year and a half ago or so, charlese mentioned something similar. As I had just received my own DC3300, I went to assemble it with that problem in mind. My simple solution was to assemble the bolts the other way around, with the nice round heads against the bag and the nuts on the outside. I have had no tears.
(except for the #$%& cats sharpening their claws on the bags!)

I WISH I had assembled the bolts, like you did. But it's together and I'm LEAVING it that way.
