At this point I am inclined to agree that apparently I ordered the level 1 that is shown on the packing list as 555135 @ $ 359.00 and received part of level 2 less the floating tables in the same box. I can't find any other paper work to explain where the extra parts came from. eBay did not exist back then, so I know they were not purchased elsewhere. There was a Shopsmith factory retail store in Tulsa, OK at the time but I have no record of buying these items at that store.

trjohns22, Thanks for posting the bulletin showing the breakdown of level 1 and level 2 which explains a lot.

I think your 'problem' has little to do with the 30 year old table upgrade order.

So harness it. ;) :)

dgreen810,

Please explain to us what other company in the world would even respond to a 30 year old complaint (If they were still in business) that you have expressed. Regardless of what you got you got what you ordered and apparently some extra parts.

I think your expectation of SS to fix your "problem" is unreasonable. You got what you ordered plus apparently a few extras.

However ADMIN responded and was willing to look into your "problem" and you dismissed it as no help.

Get a life!!!

I wanted to say it, but I feel I am on tenuous ground here, I would say this, most if not all would not even if it was 3 months. :)

We don't know enough to dismiss this as "there having been no problem". He has parts that were not listed on the invoice that was presented here BUT we don't know that this is the only invoice. Only he and Shopsmith can rightly come to that conclusion.

How many of you have received parts from Shopsmith (especially a couple hundred dollars worth of parts) that you did not order. I doubt that there are many and I am sure that if you did they were boxed up and returned immediately.

Until Shopsmith and Don come to a final conclusion, I believe this remains as he has said. It is his problem and he will resolve it.

Come on Dusty. 30 years and he is just now thinking he is missing parts that he thought he ordered in 1986 and blaming SS.

I don't think SS has any culpability in this issue given the invoice that Don has.

However, SS ADMIN was willing to look into the issue and he thinks SS is unresponsive.

What do you mean "Come on Dusty".

It is safe to assume that he ordered the parts in question. Yes, he has not presented any documentation that shows that but he does have all of the parts that would have been in the order except the floating table. I believe it is reasonable to assume that the order was placed. What happened to the floating table is still another story and one that may never be fully understood.

I was not jesting when I said that he might be waiting for a back order to fill. It is not unusual, at all, for Shopsmith to "ship with shortages". It would, however, be unusual for Shopsmith to ship extension tubes, t-fittings and telescopic legs that were not ordered.

If that happened (or if it did not) Shopsmith ought to be able to confirm one way or the other.

As I have already stated: "Until Shopsmith and Don come to a final conclusion, I believe this remains as he has said. It is his problem and he will resolve it". We are too far removed from the facts to judge.

What can Shopsmith tell you about what you have ordered? I do believe the answer to that question is located here: "shopsmith.com/owner_pages/order_status.htm".
