B Day Present

Post by ERLover »

I have been thinking about the Earlex 5500 HVLP sprayer for a few years, but never pulled the trigger for $300. I had planned a few times to attend a demo for them at Rockler near moms, but the timing of it made it a bit inconvenient.
I got an email this afternoon from them that they have thiers on sale for $99, a third off. It is not the same as the 5500, but for that price, and since next Thursday is my B Day I pulled the trigger. Picking it up tomorrow morning. In a week or so I will write a review, I will use it for my router cabinet drawer and another little project that I just started.

My father who at the end had some Dementia at 90/92 and died I think it will be 4 years ago this Oct, always said in his last few years " mike you treat yourself good", I responded "well dad I am single, who else going to do it, you never did". Mom did and that is why I am here for her now, and she deserves it!! She was always there when I needed something, he was not.
But I would have if he would have let me.

I still haven't decided what to get ME for my birthday,
but it just might be another Model 10. (Birthday was
yesterday.)

Older brother (Sterling, here) and I are off to Vegas,
for the graduation of a niece as well as a nephew.
One of my brothers is giving us, a Model 10. Don't
know which of us will keep it.

That, or a decent bottle of extra-proof, spiced, young
black rum. The Kraken comes to mind.

10 ER, stripped down.
Basic 10ER, Parts machine. Will be a semi-dedicated drill-press machine.
10 ER, a "survivor" of the trailer fire, in the back yard, needing restoration. Has a Mk5 headrest. Finally, stripped down.
Numerous parts, for Model 10 stuff. Except for lower saw guard, A and B adapters, I've got it.

Looking for one more, or some 9 inch extension table raisers.

Bob, been out of town, so I haven't been too active here.

We picked up the Model 10, which looks to be in GREAT
shape, but needs some "tender loving care."

My baby brother's wife works in retail, and her store is
being refurbished. Baby bro jumped on 30 or so pieces
of 8 foot by 15 inch 3/4 plywood shelving. I got most of
it. (Made his wife VERY happy! Also got a bike that was
taking space in his garage, DiamondBack Sorrento.)

Not to worry, he will be getting some melamine covered,
3/4 inch shelves. AND, the mounting hardware. He will be
installing shelving on BOTH sides of his garage.

Bob, hope you had a GREAT Birthday!

Oh Steve if you did not see my best B day post, here it is!!! I have been waiting on you to get on line!!!!
First of thank you Lyall for that CL posting of the ER :)
I emailed him last night telling him I would like to buy it and gave him my phone #. He called me this morning, still has it. I asked him if Sat or Sun afternoon would be good for him to pick it up. He said Saturday he was coming to Milwaukee so that day would not work. I said I live in the Milwaukee area. He said he would bring it up if I was serious. I said I would pay for his gas out of gratitude.
Today just happens to be my B Day!!! :D
Skou, some times life can be so sweet. ;)
