I agree, the greenie would make a great DP or shorty, and plenty of power with the 3/4 HP motor. Redo the grayling into the major machine. Looks like Aluminum Oxidation but funny on a painted Aluminum not raw, definitely not rust. I would take a green Scotch Pad and rub it a bit and see if it flakes off.

The paint flakes off easily, the bare aluminum is oxidized and the surface is rough, will see if soda blasting will smooth it out a bit. The bench tubes are worse than the way tubes, even after 48 hours in evapo-rust there are lots of black spots even after using Scotch Bright, will have to polish on my power pro to see if they will clean up, all bare steel is heavily rusted, this machine had to have set outside or in a very humid location, even most of the bearings run rough. The roll pins on the caster lift mechanisms are rusted fast and after sever beating can't be removed. Never saw such a mess. But it is all apart, with the exception of the castor lifts and ready for soda blast, all steel parts are sand blasted, legs had heavy rust. They sure pulled a bait and switch with Craigs List pictures but I got it for a reasonable price, except for the need to replace all bearings, but am buying them locally, the Mothership only sells complete assemblies, much cheaper to only replace vearings.
