Bandsaw fence

Post by dannyshamoon »

Since there's an email special this weekend on some bandsaw stuff I need to know if the upgrade fence is the same fence as used on the table saw fence.

What table saw fence? Which BS fence? In a word no. The SS BS fence is the same as the MK V 500 upgrade fence but shorter. other than that there are no similarities to any other MK V table saw fences (510 or 520).

Or 500/Mark 5.

I took a fence rail/guide off a spare 500 table and it bolted up to the aluminum band saw table no problems. Its off-set by an inch or so to the riser side but the fence works just fine. Very minimal interference with the miter slot. A few light passes with a file took care of that.

I believe the OP is talking about the table top fence not the rail that the fence attaches to. After all the original 500 tables did not have a bolt on rail, they were cast as part of the table. The later 500 tables had bolt on rails and I assume they are the same as the BS rail.

I would say the BS rail is the same extrusion as the Goldie Mark 5(poly-v models) rails(and other places).

What came first, the chicken or the egg? ;)
