It is an E.

And an old/early one to boot.
I love you guys knowledge and expertise, but you got to get a life ;)
The difference I see here in his pic on the HS is the bolt on the Quill Ring, clamp compared to my ERS, that maybe the give away?[/quote]

That's it. :)

Hey Dusty,

That's the updated version for the kids with the sub woofers taking up all their trunk space
and that you can hear coming a half mile away! :D

It's in the top ten of most annoying songs.
Original version: OOh E, Ooh ER

Now if I could just remember who put the Ram in the Rama-lama-ding-dong.

ER Lover,

It was made in the first few months of 1948.
I distinctly remember cause it was two years after I was born. :D

Actually, it was you guys who helped me figure out the vintage.

I personally loved the use of the grinding wheel without a guard in site.... Could have been a trip to the ER........... and well I guess its over now.

Reible,

Point well taken and great play on words.
I did have rubber respirator and wrap-a-round safety glasses and ear protection . . . and ran it at the slowest speed and with the utmost caution . . . .

but you are right.
Before I do that again I'll build a guard.

Thanks,
Terry

P.S.
The axle shaft was good and heavy and the C-clamp at the far end was to keep it from trying to climb up -- which it didn't really want to do anyway. I did a few close examinations of the disk as well. I used the Smith sanding disk for a finer polish.

Greenie, Grayling, SS stand alone BS and BS SPT, jointer and belt sander, 3 Ers with Speed Changers. I think those 3 cover my ER needs, and space for them. :)
