A question for the forum regarding rasps
Do you use Japanese Rasps and or Microplanes? If you do, are there preferences of style, suppliers, and brands of the Japanese rasps?

I use microplanes. Love them!
Re: A question for the forum regarding rasps
I tried using raps once and either didn't get it at the time or had dull tools. Either way, I haven't used them again.

I have a microplane but it lives in the kitchen for grating ginger, orange zest, etc

Re: A question for the forum regarding rasps
I have a couple of hand stitched rasps (more expensive than machine made rasps but worth every penny) and a couple of micro planes. I use the rasps for fine tuning shapes and the micro planes for hogging off material.
