Road trip !

Post by masonsailor2 »

I have to go to Amarillo for a day and my neighbor of 30 years who now lives in Phoenix has talked me into a road trip instead of flying. Should be fun. Have never been to Amarillo so it should be interesting. Lots of sun screen will be in order as it will be top down for as long as we are comfortable with the heat. So I will start in Orange County Ca and head for Phoenix tomorrow pretty early, spend the night in Phoenix and then start out for Amarillo early Tuesday. We will see what is of interest in Amarillo !

My wife has family in Sacramento. We (I) drive from Salt Lake to Sacramento, about 10 1/2 hours. It is a very pleasant drive. About 30 miles to get past Salt lake and then I80 west. NO traffic. Just a pleasant drive at 80 MPH. Reno at noon no problem and then over Donner Pass and down into Sacramento. Some traffic but usually not a big problem.

I have no idea about I10 on the southern route.

I prefer my 740iL cabin at 68* about 58 decibels minus the Tunes
on the Bose 10 way at 90ish MPH, I dont need the wind in my hair any more!!! I did door to door Saturday morning from my house in Appleton to moms which are both about a mile from I41, 99 miles in 75 minutes. In the BMer cabin and Highway 66 Revisited by Bob Dylan.

Greenie, Grayling, SS stand alone BS and BS SPT, jointer and belt sander, 3 Ers with Speed Changers. I think those 3 cover my ER needs, and space for them. :)

Well my road trip just got canceled abruptly. My best friend who I was picking up in Pheonix just spent the night in the ER and now has had his gall bladder removed. So now I get to fly to Amarillo. Bummer. Was looking forward to the road trip and seeing Gene. Oh well. It would have also been good to have lunch with you Dick. I have to come to El Paso once or twice a year so I will keep you informed. It was going to be my first road trip in the Corvette but another time.
