Not to side track but funny, I have a SS band saw with the cast iron table with miter slots and an ER miter gauge will not fit in it. I thought all there stuff was pretty much the same. I know, ER them the Marks but what the heck?

That is correct. The Magna 10ER miter slot is 3/4", the industry standard then and now. For some totally unknown reason when Magna came out with the MK 5 the slot was 23/32" and still is today. Absolutely no reason for it and I attribute to an engineering error that no one noticed until it was too late to change since there were too many machines out there. JMO.

Thanks John, yes all the Aluminum add on stock to make a miter gauge, sled ect is 3/4. Even my MLSC router table track is groovedmilled for a Delta Miter gauge with the round thingy in it that fits into a groove within the 3/4" track.
I see the point, if a mistake on the 23/32nds, no going back

I have a hard time envisioning things so I created a sketch to compare the two aluminum extrusions. I thought that doing so would make the problem become crystal clear.

In reality, it did not. In fact, it appears to me as though your extrusion might work better in my table than does the one I have.

For the extrusion to resolve your problem, it needed to raise the floor of the miter groove. It did that. It raised the floor .0245".

I believe you have already concluded this but I suspect that the data in the table top is too deep

Yeah, it looks a bit different but I had a hard time envisioning the impact of those difference. To resolve that, I created a sketch using your measurements and then integrated that sketch into a sketch of my table with the aluminum edge rail (to show the point of interference) included.

The dotted lines hopefully highlight the critical issues. There are none. Your aluminum miter track fits into the data on my table and clears the filed cutout in the aluminum extrusion.

How deep is the dado in your table top? The dado in mine is a nominal .471".

It would not be much but if my dado was .502" deep I would have some interference between a miter bar and and the aluminum extrusion (the notch).

Going strictly my the sketches that I generated, the interference would be .0172"
