Every Handiman Needs One
Not often but when you need one you really need one. Color, length and width don't matter; height is critical and is probably standard in most states.
What is it? Why do you need one? Why will you kick yourself for not taking some scrap wood on hand and making one - the next time you really need one?

Thats what has me on this, as a Licensed General Contractor and Home Inspector, the height rule. I was thinking for you lap top/wireless thing, so you dont hit your head on it, but that is to easy and not common enough to have a height standard.
Most standards/rules is either structure strength or saftey/human protection. I am thinking on those lines.
BUT I did have one of those that sat on the floor in front of a kitchen sink or bath vanity to lay on my back when working under a sink. Since the toe, kick plate in front is 3.5" high if I remember right, that is where the height is important.

Greenie, Grayling, SS stand alone BS and BS SPT, jointer and belt sander, 3 Ers with Speed Changers. I think those 3 cover my ER needs, and space for them.

Don't think I've ever needed one of those things. At this age wonder if I ever will?
Guess I;m not a handyman.

Re: Every Handiman Needs One
I have a friend I refer as/to Uncle Johnny, about 7years ago he needed a new sink faucet put in.
A double sink with a double door below with a vertical center style in between the doors, just enough to get into, now John is a Mechanical and Electrical Engineer with a heavy Computer back ground. I said, "when I crawl in for tools in there stay close by", well John is a bit DST, so I am a bit screwed, he is watching NASCAR Racing in the living Room And I am stuck there, needing tools. He bought dinner though and the drinks.
