Delta Table Saw Motor help

I posted about the Table Saw I bought this spring the ran for a bit then did not and found a cracked and chipped out brush. I ordered new brushes and I got about 20 minutes or run time on it and noticed a lot of arcing at the brush side of the motor vent, pulled the brushes and posted a pic in a previous post to you all here. I noticed a bad spot on the motor shaft where the brushes make contact.
My question here is if I take the motor into a shop, can they usually correct it? It is a specific motor for Delta and a new one is in the 287$ so buying a new motor will not be an option.

It depends on how bad it is. Many times the commutator can be smoothed and polished and the grooves between the segments cleaned. We used to do it all the time on one particular C-130 aircraft generator that had brushes. Again, it depends on how bad it is to start with.

JS I was going through the manual and they list the service sites in the various States, now this saw was built in the 80's, well they have one in Milwaukee listed, about 2 miles from moms, called the #, got the answering/VM still in business. My first to on this.
