There have been several things in the UP that were little known or perhaps not known (wolf mountain) or the WWII POW camp or the Deep Woods Triangle.

This is one that I found interesting:

Some stuff might be local legion or perhaps perhaps more........

New about the German POW camps, neighbor was a guard there.
Did you know in recently years MI has put up cheap housing and shipped Detroits Finest Citizens up there! Causing problems in the schools, community ect.

Very interesting! I never heard of it and I got to Kincheloe in Jan 76. I remember the Bomarc missiles along with the Nike's. Not from the AF but as a kid. When I got it Kincheloe in Jan 76 (it snowed for 45 days in a row, BTW. :) ) one of the first things I/we did was to de-militarise the Hound Dog Missile. It was an air to ground missle carried on the B-52.

@ JB, was the Hound Dog a type of Cruise Missile? By its name sounds like it could seek out its target like a sniffing hound dog does what it is chasing.

Two step verification is a very very good thing. Many online services already provide it, many more need to.

I wonder how many POW camps there were in Mich. When I was in the scouts we camped one winter weekend and stayed in the barracks of the one in Allegan County. Then when I went to Germany the first time the shop where I was stationed at had many german civ working in it and many had been POW's in WW2. One was sent to the camp at Allegan and he told how much he want ed to stay there after the war but was sent back to Germany.Several years later I was sent back over there and we drew our trucks from the depot on a Reforger training. One day we got done early and I took a Lt with me and we went back to where the shop was. I walked in the door and there sat Henry. He told me he was retiring in a couple of days and wanted me to come to his party as I would still be there I had a great time and the beer flowed

Dont know, I was a kid, neighbor was like my dad in his early 40s, but an Immigrant family from Germany or Poland b4 the war, he could speak fluent German, guard in the UP, my dad in Pre Med, 32 missions flying Path Finder over the Father land, 3 shot ups, 3 landings that were less the stellar. Nothing against the neighbor, Paul Chaduk.

The beaurocrats at Social Security have a bad case of cranial-rectalitis and there is no cure in sight for them.
Expect one stupid move after another from them.
