Re: Some times I wonder at shopsmith parts planning
I recently bought a stand and drive motor from a guy on Ebay who parted out a pro planer, so I can mount my Mark V/7 planer. The guy only had the drive pulley and not the secondary - and it's an old style 1:1 pulley anyway, so I ordered the upgraded 3:5 pulley kit from SS and SPT casters, carbide dado stack, and a few other things on August 1st. The results are in the photo. The saw table micro adjuster scales went to back order on Friday last week. The pulley kit was on back order - now in stock apparently. I don't know what the deal is with the dial gauge, but I found something comparable on Amazon - http://smile.amazon.com/dp/B002VRFM9Y Woodpeckers Precision Woodworking Tools SG-WP Saw Gauge.
In the past I've ordered things that were the advertised "special" and they were on back order. I understand overhead and good business inventory practices, but Shopsmith sometimes baffles me as well.

The next time you think your idea is stupid, remember someone in a meeting once said, "let's make a movie about tornadoes full of sharks!"

Are they still not charging shipping on a back order shipment?crosscreekcraig wrote:I recently bought a stand and drive motor from a guy on Ebay who parted out a pro planer, so I can mount my Mark V/7 planer. The last time I had a split shipment due to back order, they didn't charge extra. Maybe I'll give them a call today even though I think I know what they'll say.JPG wrote:Are they still not charging shipping on a back order shipment?

FYI - The Belt Sander Driver Sleeve is still available on its own, Part #502932. I found where it indicates that it is not available and will have our Webmaster fix that on the site along with spelling.

Indeed! I just checked on my order status and the entire order shows as "being shipped". Mysterious.JPG wrote:Nice to have an 'insider' amongst us!![]()

This day in age, it is what it is to stay viable!!!
It is better then most companies, Delta, DeWalt, ect!!! And even after market places for them
I need a motor shaft/rotor for a Delta specif motor, no longer available, new motor at $257 for a table saw I bought on CL for $150ish. And many more of them on CL. Just going to eat it.

The Greatness officially starts
Greenie, Grayling, SS stand alone BS and BS SPT, jointer and belt sander, 3 Ers with Speed Changers. I think those 3 cover my ER needs, and space for them.

Pretty much my plan, minus the roller base I bought for it. If it does not sell, save the stand and side tables.JPG wrote:Sell 'as is' for parts sans motor.ERLover wrote:This day in age, it is what it is to stay viable!!!It is better then most companies, Delta, DeWalt, ect!!!
