Shopsmith scroll saw

Post by Beave2012 »

So in my many adventures I ran into a stand alone scroll saw by shopsmith for $100. I will go see it tomorrow but the picture looks great...

My dad might get a nice birthday gift if all turns out well. And I might be jealous of the stand alone because mine is heavy. Lol

Is there any difference between the Teal and the gray models?

If it looks good go for it. That is a great price. I paid $125 for my stand alone Teal saw in near new condition.

Differences... The table has minor modifications but not the size so that is not an issue. I guess the biggest difference is the blade holders and the tensioning system. The current system is great and I think all the older saws can be upgraded to the new system. I highly recommend you do that. At $100 it is a super buy.

Here's a pic of my saw. I picked it up on CL for $150 about 2 years ago. The previous owner had the blade change system upgrade with it, but not installed. It took me about 20 minutes to install it. The system upgrade PN is 555706.

Picked up the scroll saw. Mint condition with cover. Does need the upgraded blade change, but that's no big deal for later. Also got a bench grinder out of it for $30 and a free miter box with saw as I left as a parting gift. Lol. Just a great guy retiring out of state wanting his tools to find a great home.

My dad will get the scroll saw and I bet he will love it.
