I need to make a mortise for a hinge in a half inch thick board. The problem is that the face is at 22.5 degrees. I would normally do it in router mode or with a dado, but I can't for the life of me figure a way to do this accurately except with chisels (which with me are not all that accurate LOL).
Any ideas?

Angled mortises on the Shopsmith are a snap! Tilt the table to the desired angle. Use the miter gauge with an extension as your fence.

And THAT is why I'll always have Shopsmiths, no matter how many stand-alone tools I may accumulate. I am in total agreement Dennis. Having the stand alone tools is great but for specialty operations nothing can match the SS's ability to perform difficult cuts and mortises. The ability to to create jigs for special operations is where they truly shine. I can't imagine the frustration of creating cabinets/furniture without one.
