I know I razz some here with there ER "Show Ponies", I can/do understand all the work that it takes to make a show pony with such an intricate machine and all the parts to paint, polish ect, Kudos to you that do it!!
I can appreciate your labor of love. 
The ones I have bought are working and not rust buckets, just give a Mineral Spirit wipe down, new belts, and clean up the oxidized Aluminum and some lube to the SC.
So for the bench I wanted Doug Fir 4x4 for the legs, messed that up, I got dense Cedar but it has weight to it. Apron is just pine 2x4 and 2x6. Got my head on and went to my good lumber yard for Doug Fir 2x10 for the top, I could have gotten Doug Fir 4x4 for the legs there, brain fart.
Hit with Shellac with Trans Tint dye in it to give it the aged/Patina look of original then some oil Poly.
To the ER, started on that this winter, spun the tubes on the Greenie to polish them then Pentrol coated.
This afternoon started on the ER cast iron. I want to thank whoever on the idea of a dowel with wet and dry instead of a cylinder bore polisher from McMaster Carr. I got a 1 1/2 and 1/2" dowels, on the Band Saw but out an 1/8" slot on center about 1 1/2" deep, then cut a piece of green Scotch Pad, slipped into the slot and cut to length to make the circumference, added some PB Blaster and cleaned up the inside diameters of all cast iron.
Then started on the painted surfaces, wiped down with MS, then 0000 steel wool with JPW, shined it up and got rid of any wood gunk/smuck and oxidation on the paint. Head Stock and tail piece and lathe thing to do tomorrow yet, plus the Aluminum stuff.

Need to get some handles from Hogslow, luv to get the red ones from Skip, but a bit pricey compared to the Hog, but Skips are original length or a bit longer, the Hogs are only 6" and black knobs.
I am not going for a Blue Ribbon on this one like you guys have Won/deserve at the State Fair.
