My nephew has a 1954 Greenie that the motor at this point in time is not working. I picked up a 1998 Grayling with legs and both ends that was made into a bech top Deputy.
My question is are the way and support tubes on the Greenie the same diameter as the ones that would have been used on the Grayling? if not will it all still fit on the Greenie tubes?

The Greatness officially starts
Greenie, Grayling, SS stand alone BS and BS SPT, jointer and belt sander, 3 Ers with Speed Changers. I think those 3 cover my ER needs, and space for them.

Re: Way and Support tube Diameters
As I recall the way tubes, the one the headstock rides on are all the same dimensions, 1-3/4". The lower or bench tubes do vary in diameter depending on age.
If I understand the question you will have no problem using the headstock from your new purchase on the older machine.

Re: Way and Support tube Diameters
Only the bench tubes vary. Greenie and early Goldies = 1 7/8".
Affects the base castings only.
