Smart Meter----------- who has them?

Ours was installed a year ago. I had been reading about them on another forum and the problems they were having with them but ours went fine until Mar of this year. The elec usage shot up threw the roof. It showed we used 3 times the elec as normal and the elec company said these meters cannot be wrong so we paid it. In April our usage went down to almost nothing and now it has been steady all summer. So for last month we get a bill saying we owed nothing for the month because of overpayment for earlier months. I found out that all the neighbors had the same thing happen to them so I guess the meter must have been wrong. On our bill it has a bar graph now and you can track your usage from month to month much easier than before

I am guessing the meters were accurate, but something else in the uploop got squirrelly.

The bar graph does not depend upon the meter itself, but rather a billing 'feature'.

The bar graph tells how much elec is used in each month so this will tell me what months have a heavy usage. With us it does not seem to vary much summer to winter as we don't use air in the summer. The useage goes up starting in Sept and the next few months it levels our before dropping slightly in Apr
