Re: Leaf blower deer
When we rode motorcycles in northern Pennsylvania we saw the same reaction from wildlife, without the air of course. If we were on running motorcycles we could approach close enough to touch them. But the minute the motorcycle was shut off the animal headed for the hills! It seemed like animals were comfortable with something that was making noise and not trying sneak up on them. This included deer, wild turkeys, owls and bears. On the bears we kept our distance. But when we came up on a mother bear with two cubs as long as the motorcycles were running she let them play and us watch. Once we shut off the motorcycles she went on the defensive and the cubs went up trees. Needless to say we quickly restarted and high tailed out of there.reible wrote:Just got this and it is certainly what I think is odd behavior..... fits right in here.

I suspect your deer enjoyed the cool breeze. I will say in a month or two when he gets in rut your will not want to b that close to him.q

Amazing.
I think I have a video saved on my PC at home that a friends brother took at a camp ground in TX, setting out bowls of cereal on morning and the deer would walk up to the table and eat out of them.

My friend and hunting guide in MT said, in the fall you go out to cut wood with a chain saw and the deer and a few elk would show up, when I asked why he said for the tops of the trees, tender eating. He started to use his chain saw as a game call when guiding for clients.
