My Latest Turning Project, Blackwood and Holly Goblets

Here's my latest project, a pair of holly and African blackwood goblets:

I've wanted to try making goblets for a while now, and I wanted to do more turnings with curved segments similar to my bowl I made a while back. Here's a link to the full album, here's another link to some process photos.

Ned, you've actually outdone yourself, which I would have doubted possible. The bowl was amazing, but the goblets are both amazing and exquisite. I can't help but wonder what they would bring at a high-end art gallery.

Thanks all. I came up with a faster method to cut curved segments than what I used before by utilizing the band saw with a specialized circle cutting jig. Though cutting and gluing up the cup sections was faster than the bowl, all in all this project took longer as I underestimated how long the stems and bases would take to finish. If anyone wants to see how to do a similar laminated barley twist stem, here's a link to a website that shows how.
