zopimchat?????????????????????????????

Post by reible »

So this morning I come to the site and there it is, love when something new happens like this......NOT.

It only happens here. Something unexplained that shopsmith added and for what?

Some customers with quicker questions may prefer to chat (type their question in) instead of making a phone call to the toll-free number (1-800-543-7586). We now support answering questions both ways.

Well I personally found it annoying so I blocked the script in adblock plus. If I need it I will unblock it I just don't want the distraction every time I'm here.

Ed,
I followed your lead. The pop-up is probably more appropriate on the ShopSmith product pages. Definitely a distraction on the forum.

OKAY, now I have seen the pop up but NOT on the forum. I see it only when I go to Shopsmith.com.

If you chick the - sign, it goes into the background. I do not consider it all that intrusive (unless it shows onto the forum also).

Shopsmith would do well to make announcements about web site changes such as these.

Personally I think it is a great idea. Like Ed, you can block it with ghostery or whatever, but having a chat with a person about something shopsmith is quick and functional.

I like it! :D

With this and the Saturday customer service time I would say they moved into the 21 century. As long as you can get the answers answered by a competent person.
It is a bit annoying/eye distraction, but get used to it. Too many, "set in there ways" seniors here at times. I am curious what JPG thinks of it? He has been absent a bit, maybe throwing his $ around at the Native Americans. :) ;)

Keep in mind we will not see the questions OR the answers. One of the strengths of the forum is the vast amount of experience we as a group have. And that grows from seeing questions and answers.

Just saying its not all rainbows.
