Tire wants to walk off bandsaw wheel

Getting my new table and blade dialed in on my bandsaw and noticed that the orange tire wants to start walking off the wheel. Woodslicer 1/2 inch almost new. Everything is square and works beautifully but I'm concerned the tire is headed off the wheel. I'm running at slow and just at the 1/2 inch tightening bar. I experimented with it tighter and increased speed to just past D and the tire was 1/3 of the way off the wheel. I thought the orange tires were supposed to fit completely within the width of the wheel but there's a 1/4" gap between the wheel "curbs".

Did the tires come froom Shopsmith? The only time mine came off is when i accidently started the bandsaw at 3400 rpm. When operating on slow speed, are the tires jumping the curb or riding it?

As Chris said the biggest reason for the tires to expand and jump the wheel is excess speed. I believe that I remember that SS had some problems with orange tires that were slightly oversized. But that was a while back and I think the problem has been corrected.
For what it's worth I still like the rubber tires. My opinion only. Did you get the tires from SS or with a used machine? Also realize that a speed of 1000 RPM is equal to about 3000 feet per minute of blade speed which is a bit high for my blood.

Back in like 2007 shopsmith shipped some oversized tires and they had problems like you are describing. One hint was that they went on really easy.... This was back when Nick was here and there is a few posts on this somewhere here.

I'm still using the old black tires so I have no personal experience with the issue but I did read about it.

I'll see if I can find a link in case this is the problem.

Actually the tires seem too narrow. There's about 1/4 gap between the curb and edge of tire. When I increased the speed it was jumping the curb. Luckily I saw it and stopped the saw. These came from SS and I put them on this spring and haven't used the saw hardly at all. The saw has been somewhat of a project because the cast iron table had a bow in the middle and then I went with a new aluminum table and it had a sag on one corner and they sent me a new one and it is perfect. So, I'm just dialing this in and it is square to the table and I'm doing some resawing with the Woodslicer and all has been great. I should probably have just left the speed alone. I'm running it on the slowest setting and noticed that the tires want to move to the outside curb. They haven't jumped the curb on the slow setting but I'm going to be watching very closely. Took some pics but my phone wants to send too big a picture for the forum to accept.

have you gone through the BS manual step by step for the BS set up? Back up guides, bearing by the tension gauge ect?
Ya gotta do it, as described here, I have done 3 and very important, it may not fix your problem but this needs to be done to eliminate it.

Is that means it is fixed?? Cant cut smooth and straight with the tires coming off.
We are pretty exact here, "pretty dialed in" means, I am almost pregnant, you are or you are not.
