Re: Tire wants to walk off bandsaw wheel
Should that tire be wider so it fits more snug between the curbs?

Do you have a photo that shows this 'curb' you talking about? This is a photo (not terribly good) of my band saw upper wheel and I see no curb and I do think my tire is wider than what I saw in your pictures.putttn wrote:Should that tire be wider so it fits more snug between the curbs?

The picture on previous page is all I have but you can tell from that picture that there is a gap of about 1/4" between the back of the blade and the right curb. Can't remember exactly but I thought my black rubber tires went from curb to curb.

In the photo I posted, do you see what you are referring to as the curb.putttn wrote:The picture on previous page is all I have but you can tell from that picture that there is a gap of about 1/4" between the back of the blade and the right curb. If edge to edge is the same, then yes, my black tires go almost edge to edge BUT is this apples to apples. The orange tires may be a different size. I don't know. I have never worked on a machine with orange tires.

Your black tires are going from curb to curb. Mine are definitely narrower. I think a call to the Mother Ship is in order.

ErLover, shopsmith tires are not crowned like most others.
This is mine with Blue Max tires. No problems in the 1 year or so that i have been using them.

Are the blue tires from SS? Yours are wider than my orange tires. Anyone have a picture of their orange tires?
