I used to enjoy making things on a scroll saw. I was not very good at it, but could improve with practice. I gave my Dremell scroll saw to my brother when I got a used Shopsmith one from a seller on EBay. It arrived with a broken arm, and by the time I took it apart, ordered the part, and started putting it back together again I never quite finished. Now I don't quite remember what goes where and don't have the manual. I was browsing on EBay again last night and up popped a rather new looking Shopsmith scroll saw for $319 with shipping. It's on the way! When it gets here, I'll use it as a guide to finish off my old one and then list that one for sale. I might even break even, though probably not.

Could have ordered a manual.. Truth be told I think I might have! I did read JPG's thread several times and it's great, but this is a much newer saw with the "upgraded blade system" (yes, I know, not and expensive upgrade), and, well, it called to me like a puppy. I know that I will soon finish the old one, and I don't think selling it will be a problem... I don't need or want two unless my wife wants to have one-NOT...

I guess the only difference here is that mine are for my wife. She wanted to get into scroll sawing so we took a course on Hill AFB at the wood hobby shop. They have Hawk RBI stand alone saws. So I bought a Magna jig saw on eBay. It is in very nice condition. Then later a SS branded jig saw showed up on eBay. Do I need it, NO, but I wanted it so I bought it. It is in the same very nice condition of the first one. My wife used it for a number of years. Then A Teal stand alone showed up locally for $150. Oh yes and in like new condition. We use that now and use SS branded jig saw on a power station with sanding strips. Anyone want a Magna branded jig saw in very nice condition?
