I have to agree with the OP. This is like Dumb and Dumber running for office. The electoral college was developed partly because John Adams said, "The American people don't know how to vote for their own leadership." That has been tampered with so much. And, the House of Representatives has not followed the Constitution since the 1960's because it would involve too many representatives. So we have the gerrymandering. There have been cases where the popular voted for a leader and the electoral college elected the other person. I am not a party person. I will not vote for a draft dodger as I served in the Viet Nam war. Didn't like it, but did the best job I could in the war zone. Also, will not vote for anyone who makes an effort to legislate morality. This is not a nation governed by religion. Look at Europe and the Middle East, China and Japan. However, this election may see me leaving the country. I do not like either one and both of them scare me. Which one scares me more? I do not know.

Have fun. I will not comment on this issue again.

20-30 years ago the populous would be outraged, just like a murder in home town, USA or a Police Officer getting gunned down.
Most have become numb/desensitized to it, sad to say.

No, I am truly undecided. My oops was simply to point out that most news outlets are not what they are supposed to be - impartial. When they sensationalize over and over, that's not reporting t he news, that's colorizing it.
What bothers me more is talk radio.

Just finished filling in my absentee ballot (first time I've gone absentee). It is nice to be able to research the down-ballot candidates and local elections and ballot initiatives from the comfort of my own living room.

I think it goes beyond desensitization, it shows a lack of societal morals. Integrity, honesty, uprightness are lost terms. Our society has become a society where people are expected to lie, cheat, steal, even kill as long as it is not us they do it to. If we get lied to, cheated, stolen from then they must be prosecuted to the fullest. But if it was only done to you, people wonder what you are complaining about everyone lies, cheats and steals?

What did you post 3 days again that got deleted? Must have been in a different thread. This thread is only two days old; initiated at about 5:30am on the 27th of October.
