A very different kind of woodworking

Post by BuckeyeDennis »

I was going to lunch a week or so ago, missed a turn, and stumbled across this very cool oddity in a neighborhood near my workplace.

Who needs a mill? Or planer? Or even a Shopsmith?

Just work with what nature handed you. :)

I would bet the hole was cut out, and there looks like some hand work in areas.
What is the significance of the wooden ball down on the left side?

It was carved or certainly enhanced from the original stump. The ball? The man is an artist and that is what he envisioned. Looks beautiful to me.

Pretty cool. Made me think of the Mesoamerican ball game.
