Veteran's Day 2016

Post by reible »

Sort of slipped up on me this year.

Just got back from a program for Veteran's Day at the school where 3 of my grandchildren attend. I had some dog tags made up for them with some of my facts in case they want to remember some time in the future. Nice program and I'm glad I was able to attend.

We gathered in a utility room before hand, I got there early so I picked a table facing the door so I could find the kids as they came in. Another gentleman joined me and we got talking, now this was a real treat, he too was a dog handler! Patrol dogs rather then the scout/mine/tunnel work I did. Just not that many of us around so this was a surprise for sure.

So I hope this day is a good one for you fellow veteran's. We are flying out POW/MIA flag today, don't hear it mentioned much but they are veteran's too.

Ran out of tool money so I can't even go to Lowe's and use my discount today.... 19 more days before the new budget takes hold.

I'm glad you enjoyed your Veteran's Day today. I hope all the veterans out there are having a good day too.
I spent my day down at a local grocery store. They served a free meal for all veterans who attended.

My wife and I spent this morning getting a free oil change at Jiffy Lube and then went and speced out a new lap top and desk top computer from our local custom computer shop.
