Pin Nailer

Post by jsburger »

I have a Porter Cable pin nailer Model PIN100. The spec says 1/2" to 1" pins. I have a need to use 3/8" pins. Has anyone used 3/8" pins in the Porter Cable nailer?

I have a different brand and it too has the 1/2" as minimal size. I assume you found 3/8" length somewhere? The are headless so I don't see that portion of the nailer being a problem. Still 23 GA so that would be an issue, so that leaves me wondering what would the problem be with the shorter length? Maybe something to do with how they are feed in? Or maybe nothing?

Yes, Rockler has Grex 3/8" pins. I assume the Grex pin nailers support them. My thought is the same as yours, will they feed and fit in the magazine properly. They are only $6.99 so if nobody responds positively I will try them and see what happens.
