Hi I was at a friend's house and she has an old Shopsmith it was her father's she said it also has a router table saw band saw a leith and other extras and I was wondering where do you find a serial number at and is 200 too much I don't know anything about it only that I was looking for a table saw for a few projects I like to see it in could make a shadow box for my daughter ashes I can always pay someone to do it but I feel I have to have some part in it or it won't mean much to me how do I find out what all the parts are in reality don't have a clue all I know is that it was her father's and asking 200 please any help would be great thanks

Serial numbers for are generally found on the headstock. The newer ones have a sticker like this:

Older ones have a metal plate like this.
Prices vary by model, location, condition, age, completeness, and add ons. I'd say if it is running, you can't go to far wrong for $200 but you really want to make sure it's got its major parts.

If it's complete and working, I wouldn't hesitate to spend $200.

Generally speaking $200 is reasonable even without the router table and band saw. Look for other stuff as well that has shopsmith on it.
Do not let age be a deterrent. These things are like tanks and the most important stuff is still available from the 'mother ship'.
