Making America[n Tourister] Great Again

Just a quick project to help out some broken plastic on an old reliable piece of luggage... 2nd time in 5 years!

A bit of old rolling pin was bored with a 5/16" hole after being glued to a faceplate scrap. The 5/16" hole was for the live center, as well as a later usage to be shown. My smaller gouge was recently sharpened, well enough that I did this whole job without sanding:

Next, I used a matching socket-head cap screw and a metal threaded insert in the 5/16" hole. I've found out the hard way not to use the "screwdriver on the slot" for driving inserts. A SHCS bottomed-out on the insert is the better way to go:
