Chisel guide

Post by dgreen810 »

I have always had somewhat of problem keeping chisels flat on the stone when touching up an edge. I made this little "Gizmo" out of a piece of Pecan wood and some old bearings I refused to throw away years ago. Seems to work pretty well after you get it adjusted flat to the stone.

Very clever way to get the bevel situated! I'll bet that chisel sings now.

I got in a hurry on a project, and sprang for the fancy commercial version. But I'd bet it doesn't work a darned bit better.
