Conceptually, yeah, maybe. Quality! Not even in the same ball park. Woodpecker stuff is good BUT it is expensive.

In this topic I did a while back, I created a jig for riding in the miter slot with zero play. It worked great. In the second revision, I replaced the wedge with a dowel which works equally well.

The hardware selection has been slightly altered to get the proper ID on the washers and the bolts have been replaced to get the correct length. Other than hat, these have not changed from the previous posts. I now have a matching pair of dial indicators.

What prevents the dial indicator from rotating on its axis, and thus changing its measurement, as the jig is moved along the miter slot to take readings from the front and back of the blade?

I am sorry but I do not understand the question. If you are talking about the stem rotating there is nothing that prevents that but rotating the stem does not alter the reading. The reading changes only as a result of the stem moving in or out.

However, I do not typically slide the indicator along the miter track. I pick it up and move from front to back of the blade when I am doing table alignments.

Now if I was checking for something like the face of the rip face being straight (flat), I would probably slide it

Forget slide. It looks like the entire jig would rotate/pivot up and down in the miter slot. The tip of the dial indicator can essentially move in an arc up and down. When moved from location to location (checking a tooth at the front and back of the blade) how would you ensure the jig had not rotated?
