Notifications on PM's

Post by shipwright »

I've been missing PM's lately. When I checked my preferences I found that the notification for them was turned off. Thing is, I can't turn them back on. I've changed to "yes" about three times and clicked "submit". When I go back and check it still says "no".
Is this a policy change or am I just doing it wrong?

Thanks!

No idea Paul, sounds like you are doing correctly, I know in the past I have forgotten to hit the "submit" but was my fault. I trust you that you did it. Dont have a clue, maybe a open thread to the Adim, so it wont have to go through a PM that you wont know you got.
I got one from Dusty a few days ago and I had notification that I had one waiting for me.

Mine is set to yes. I would check to make sure that your private message box is not full. It's software, who knows what happens. It's a start ... :)

I don't know if a full inbox will effect the notification switch. I would think not because if you send a PM to someone with a full in box it never gets sent. It just sits in the senders out box.

I don't either, like I said, it's a start.

For what it's worth my inbox is only 38% full. I tried again today and still no joy.

Have you tried setting it to yes, submitting it, then logging off and logging on again? Shot in the dark!

So I just looked at mine and it is also now set to no. I tried to set it to yes and it reverts back to no. So it might be more of a board issue then "we" thought.

I have not changed this setting. I've gotten messages before so it has worked but I don't know when things changed.

I just sent myself a message so I'll see if it is really true or not. If I see no email announcement then it is truly set to no and I can't change it. If on the other hand the message does come then the board has just not responded correctly.

Either way it is not just one person seeing this. It is likely others will find they have the same issue if they check.
