Just Waiting

Post by dusty »

I placed an order yesterday in the early morning. I guess it was around 9:00am.

Today, nearly 24 hours later, this is the online status.

Is there a story here or am I just too impatient.

Forecast delivery date, BTW, is next Friday. I could drive over there and have this in hand before supper time this evening.

Yes you ARE being too impatient!

You do not know if the 'seller' was able to pack/deliver your 'order' before the PO closed yesterday.

Next Friday does seem like a long time from CA to Tucson.
What is this "pre-shipment info sent to USPS...." ???

The seller has printed a shipping label and I assume prepaid shipping using software that communicates with the PO.

from my dealings with USPS and/or third party USPS the tracking is a FAR cry from real time.

Yeah. UPS and FEDEX have far better systems.

I have found that USPS has fairly quick delivery service but their ability to predict the delivery time is dismal. My guess is that you will get your package long before next Friday. The sender can create the label on his home computer that gets the tracking number into the system immediately. He might wait until the next day to actually take the package to the post office or a drop off point like Staples. If he goes to Staples it will take until the end of the day before it actually gets to the post office.

I print my USPS shipping labels here at home on my computer. When I do that, they show up on the USPS site like yours. But, until my mailman comes by the house and picks it up, it doesn't show as being in their hands.

It is now six hours later and the status has not changed. At this point no one knows for sure - is it the seller or is it USPS that does not have their act together.
